Rich sweet peat and fruit aromas on the nose. Sweet peaty mouthfeel. Creamy fruit, peat, vanilla and light honey on the palate. Peat and honey on a medium finish. Pleasant. Straightforward. Easy drinking.

Pears, peat, sweet iodine, smoky fruit shortbread then seaweed smoke on the nose. Sweet pungent peat, soft smoke, light cereal then fruit on the palate.

Floral and fruity peated shortbreads just out of the oven on the nose. Sweet gentle peat and floral smoke on the palate.

Sweet tar shortbreads on the nose. Salty vanilla caramel on the palate. Oily. Soft, dry, sweet finish. (Laphroaig, Caol Ila, Ardmore and Ledaig)

Earthy peat, spice, iodine and fish smoke on the nose. Peat bonfire, Soft, sweet earthy with citrus and spice notes on the palate.

Compass Box - The Peat Monster, 46% abv

The name does not fit the whisky. There is no monster here. Sweet peat with light smoke and floral notes are predominant on the nose; the palate is treated to soft heather with a significant presence of incense; the finish is long soft and lovely. A great dram at an excellent price.
