Rich, red fruit perfume, wine aromas and licorice on the nose. Mellow thick red fruit mouthfeel. Black cherries, syrupy stewed raspberries, red wine notes on the palate. Sweet Burgundy wine sensation on a medium finish.

Red fruit medley, rhubarb, caramel, toasted brown sugar on the nose. Luscious red fruit, wee white pepper, buttery spicy port on the palate.

Forty Creek Port Wood Reserve, 45% abv

What better way to celebrate our national holiday than to sample the bsat Canadian Whisky that I have yet to experienced. Formally titled as "Forty Creek John K . Hall Port Wood Reserve", it is exquisite. Raisins, cinnamon, cane syrup with a long pepper/tobacco finish.

Of course one gets a prominent taste of port in a port wood finish. but beneath that I tasted blackberries and crème de cacao with a mild pepper finish. One of the better Canadians that I have tasted.

Forty Creek Port Wood Reserve, 45% abv

Honeyed raisins, fig compote aromas on the nose. Fiery yet smooth spiciness with mellow richness, toasted almonds and hint of smoke. Very good presence in the mouth. Smooth.
