This Single Malt is distilled by UNKNOWN in Canada.
Tasting notes:
Campari, expresso, pepper, vanilla. At room temperature and bottle strength I scored it 54 but the addition of ice tempers the excessively resinous taste of over-aging. This bottle come as a "new make in a bottle" with a piece of oak which added to "age" the whisky. Two years aging by this process is obviously excessive.
Oaky and resinous on the nose. Mildly sweet then flat fruity tang on the palate Oak stave in bottle is a bad idea - my view OK for cocktails

63Raisin pie aromas with hints of rum and spices on the nose. Very soft overture on the palate followed by spicy raisins. rather simple yet not unpleasant.

69Sultana raisin pie aromas on the nose. Spices to start then moves to bitter ginger edged grasses. finish starts off sour then moves to warmth.

69Light rum and raisin notes with undertones of solvent on the nose. Different for sure. There is almost a hint of bananas hiding in the background. An even layer of spices on the palate. Improving with age. (There is a piece of barrel stave in the bottle.)

72This is finally coming along rather nicely. The nose is still light with a bit of a spiced edge to it. Very faint aromas of spicy fruitbegin to emerge. The palate is treated to rough edges but the core is starting to mellow with almond notes. Very pleasant. Not there yet but making progress. (This single malt was distilled on August 1, 2011 and an index finger size piece of oak stave was placed in the bottle. An experiment for sure.)
