This Rye is distilled by Canadian Club in Canada.
Tasting notes:
Spicy oils, grasses, dry fruit cake greet the nose in a pleasant somewhat understated fashion. Soft light ginger dominates the palate again in an understated way. It is "there" but almost too softly. Still a very pleasant sipping dram for those of a lighter persuasion.
Canadian Club Premium, 40% abv
Soft caramel, hint of dusty corn, light nuttiness and fruit on the nose. Tangy spices, sweet fruit followed by minor astringency on the palate.

Tonight I am tasting a troika of Canadian whiskies. To start with CC Premium, probably the most internationally known Canadian whisky. IT started off light and sparkling with great promise. Although it maintained its promise until near the end, the finish was bitter and mildly dissappointing.
