Tasting notes:
The second in a troica tasting of Canadian whiskies, this whisky is more full bodied that its lighter cousin (CC Premium) and manages to hold its promise until the final end,
Canadian Club Classic 12 Years Old, 40% abv
Rich caramel, sweet roasted almonds with a hint of cloves on the palate. Round mouthfeel, sweet, light spices moving to tartness and a bit of edgy fruit on the palate.

Rich Xmas pudding, ginger, almonds on the nose. The palate is treated to a hint of dry grass with caramel and toffee. Initially there was a wee edge but it faded away. Need to go back to this one a few more times. Not sure I got entirely what it has to deliver. It is very good.

I tasted this whisky using The Famous Grouse as a comparison standard ( the latter I rated as 60). I found the Famous Grouse to be mellower than the CC Clasic which had hints of honey and fennel with an unfortunate cloying resinous finish.
