Lot No 40, 43% abv

.Sweet, smooth, peppery and (of course), rye with a long finnish of cane syrup. This gets my vote as the best Canadian whisky. An outstanding Canadian whisky

Lot No 40, 43% abv

Floral with mild wintergreen notes on the nose. Rich, round and amazingly powerful with smooth creamy spices on the palate. A great dram and best buy.

Alberta Premium, 40% abv

Distillery core expression. No age statement. Rye, brown sugar, white grapefruit, pepper. Long bitter tannin and pepper finish.

Canadian Club 20 Years Old, 40% abv

Beautiful sweet rye notes preented in an understated and elegant manner on the nose. Gentle almonds and rye notes on the palate. The finish has polished varnish tones. A GREAT whiskey.

Gibson's Finest Rare 18 Years Old, 40% abv

Rye spiciness with mellow caramel on the nose. Soft yet robust, almost bold, with a sweet pronounced nuttiness. Lovely long balanced finish.

Soft sweet spicy rye notes with a delightful light nuttiness on the nose. Great presence with delicate rye spices and a mild dry incense finish.

Forty Creek Port Wood Reserve, 45% abv

Of course one gets a prominent taste of port in a port wood finish. but beneath that I tasted blackberries and crème de cacao with a mild pepper finish. One of the better Canadians that I have tasted.

Honeyed raisins, fig compote aromas on the nose. Fiery yet smooth spiciness with mellow richness, toasted almonds and hint of smoke. Very good presence in the mouth. Smooth.

Dark Horse, 45% abv

Aromas of varnish and butterscotch greet the nose. Vanilla, peppers and bourbon notes follow on the palate. Medium finish. Good V4$ for a bourbony rye.
